End Table Repair and Renewal

Posted by Dave Eddy on May 28 2017 - tags: diy

My sister Jaime broke the glass to one of her favorite tables. I took the legs home, gave them a new look with some Burnished Amber spray paint, and created a brand new wood top with some pine scraps I had lying around stained with a coat of Provincial pine stain from Minwax.

Ikea Patio Table Wood Top

Posted by Dave Eddy on May 16 2017 - tags: diy

I bought a patio set of furniture from Ikea when I was living in California around 2011/2012. I was using it up until last year as a desk for my iMac that I replaced with a DIY Computer Desk. My mom gave me the idea to make a wood top for it and turn it into a dining room table - so I did!

Bed Headboard

Posted by Dave Eddy on Nov 07 2016 - tags: diy

I decided to make a headboard to accompany the Bed Frame I built earlier this year.

Instead of worrying about how to connect it to my bed frame I sort of cheated, and just framed it up and mounted it to the wall like a hanging picture.

DIY Sliding Barn Bedroom and Bathroom Doors

Posted by Dave Eddy on Nov 06 2016 - tags: diy

After seeing how much I liked the DIY Closet Barn Doors that I made, I decided to make new doors for my bedroom and upstairs bathroom.

Upright Piano Repair

I managed to fix most of the issues, but there is still some weirdness with the piano where I will need to hire a professional to come fix it fully.

All of the parts I ordered were from Howard Piano Industries

Motion Sensor Bed LED Lights

Posted by Dave Eddy on Nov 01 2016 - tags: diy

I added LED strips to the Bed Frame I built earlier this year activated by a motion sensor. This way, when I walk into my room or get out of bed when it is dark, these will light up and provide a nice ambient glow that will make it easier to see.

The 2 led strips on either side of the bed connect to the USB wall charger adapter, which connects to the motion sensor. Whenever motion is detected, the strips turn on for ~30 seconds providing a nice low light.

Matching Nightstands

Posted by Dave Eddy on Oct 29 2016 - tags: diy

It’s only been a year since I built my first nightstand, but in that time I’ve learned a lot that could be translated over into building newer, fancier nightstands for my bedroom.

I still love my light-up nightstand - it will just have a new place in my house.

Pine Window Trim

Posted by Dave Eddy on Oct 09 2016 - tags: diy

I removed white painted trim around my bedroom window and replaced it with dark stained wood trim. I took the white trim out to my garage and cut wood pieces to match the sizes almost exactly (I increased the size of the ledge).
