Welcome to daveeddy.com! If you have made it to this page you are probably wondering who I am and what this site is all about.
I’m Dave Eddy, and like my sites slogan “All dropped packets go to heaven” suggests I have an interest in computer networking and systems administration, dealing mostly with Linux. I also compose my own music which you can check out and download in the music section of my site.

I bought the URL daveeddy.com in December 2008, because it is my name, and it was only $10 a year through google.com. I pointed the URL to a server that I’m running just to be able to have a place to host the music that I compose. I slowly started to make the web page nicer to look at with some HTML. I added CSS to it, and then started doing a little PHP, and realized that a full blown website is the way to go.
My friend and roommate Mike (check out his site lightsandshapes.com) told me about drupal for buliding websites, so I installed it late September 2009, and that is how this site is powered now.
As of September 2010, daveeddy.com is now powered by WordPress!
This site is mainly a blog, with a lot of technical and computer related posts. I have pages with projects that I’m working on, along with scripts, tutorials, and mac applications that I write! Check them out and feel free to use my code and download my apps.
Scripts/Programs/Tutorials
My hopes in releasing my code is that someone will benefit from it, maybe even build on it and share it (with attribution given to me). None of what I release comes with any warranty whatsoever. All scripts/code is released under the GNU GPLv2 unless otherwise stated.
